I am a professional cellist and cello teacher in the Metro Detroit area. I am passionate about teaching and sharing my love of music. In 2016, I graduated from Central Michigan University with two Bachelors degrees in I graduated with a Masters of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music last Spring. While I frequently perform in the area, teaching is my main passion. I have taught many students in Michigan and Boston of all ages and abilities.
I have been teaching music since I was in high school. I would frequently volunteer in orchestra classes at elementary schools near me. In 2011, after I had started college, I began giving private lessons regularly. In 2016, I student taught in the Birmingham School District at the middle and high school levels. I always make sure that my students are in a comfortable and encouraging environment. All of the choices that I make as a teacher are made to benefit my students.
Over my years of being a student and a teacher I have gathered many resources to help me be the best teacher possible. I usually start young students with Essential Elements to help with basic technique and music reading. I try to give my students many different things to work on each week. This can include technical studies, scales, and solos. It is important for students to have a lot to work on so they don't get bored with playing music.
My main goal is for my students to have fun and to learn something. Music is a difficult subject to learn and if students aren't having fun they won't want to continue. Everyone learns at their own pace. For this reason, I assess my students during each lesson to see if they are getting the most out of my instruction. If they aren't responding well to my instruction then I adjust what I am doing or how I address topics in order to find what works best.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
