Bachelor Degree: Cleveland Institute of Music
2019-present - Cleveland Institute of Music Full Scholarship
2010-2019 - Juilliard School Pre-College Full Scholarship
I love sharing my knowledge in music and working with my students and aspiring musicians to help them achieve their musical goals. I'm currently studying at the Cleveland Institute of Music for my Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance with Ilya Kaler and my father. I studied at Juilliard School Pre-College as well with Donald Weilerstein and Li Lin. I've had numerous opportunities to perform internationally including my Carnegie Hall debut when I was ten, playing all Paganini 24 Caprices, and concert in Switzerland with Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins alongside renown violinist Shlomo Mintz.
Since my parents are musicians, I was fortunate to be able to assist them in their lessons and see how they teach for several years. Because of that, I've worked with students individually to fix their issues and difficulties so that they play at ease. I also currently teach online at Avon School of Music which I started this year. I like to emphasize a consistent practice schedule in order for students to achieve their goals for the next lesson. It's also essential for me to keep the fun in music! Although it's a tough industry, developing a passion and love towards music is what I hope to instill for my students.
For beginners, I start with basic music theory from reading notes and counting rhythms while teaching them and helping them understand how to hold their instrument properly. If they are able to have correct posture, I move on to the Suzuki books. They will work on the repertoire in there and upon mastery, I will let them move on. Slowly, I will introduce them to new repertoire outside those books as they get more advanced. I also encourage them to play with accompaniment or duets with other people if possible so that they know about ensembleship.
I find it very rewarding to see students love music more every day. Besides being firm with key concepts to achieve excellence, it's really important to inspire them and encourage them by setting realistic goals every lesson. Each student is different, hence I take students' learning styles as a priority in order to tailor my teaching to their needs and wants. When it comes to playing music well, many factors must be considered and I take every detail, from technical and musical skills, and even authenticity to the composer, very important.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
