I am a dedicated and motivated instructor whose sole mission is to develop and cultivate independent musicians of all genres. I teach violin, viola, voice, eurythmics, and music theory. I also teach ear training and pitch recognition, for those that are interested in relative or perfect pitch.
I began teaching while in high school to beginning students. From the beginning, I have always been an advocate for smart practicing. That is, taking as much time as needed to perfect the related skill rather than just learning notes on the page. Real music making is extremely important, but within each piece or song there are specific techniques that are transferable to others, but must be learned correctly.
For beginning students, I use a modified version of the Suzuki method, along with Eurythmics for children. As students advance, I have merged what I've learned through instruction with Sarah Gasse, Dr. Katherine Lewis, Jeffrey Irvine, Lynn Ramsey, Stanley Konopka, and Joanna Patterson-Zakany. For adults, I take into consideration what they are trying to gain from instruction and tailor make a program for them.
I leave the door for communication open, and often ask my students questions. This serves to help them gain their own personal insight on thier progress, and to further develop their independence as a musician.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
