I am an organized and flexible teacher who likes to focus on the short term and long term growth of each student. I focus on well rounded rounded knowledge of music, music history, and music theory to promote an informed execution full of vibrancy and understanding. I graduated from Westminster Choir College with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. I have performed in 7 countries with internationally recognized groups and traditional venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Vienna State Opera, and Broadway.
I have been teaching and coaching for 6 years in various studios and homes in New Jersey, Pennsylvania , and New York. I have worked with all age groups, but I do have more experience working with kids aged 6-18. I like to focus on healthy singing that is suitable for every distinct age group, along with methods to help with growth and transition. I also specialize in dramatic work and audition practice for those who are working professionally or preparing for a career in music. However, I also emphasize life long learning for those who are passionate hobby singers. My experience in piano instruction is focused on healthy technique that won't strain the developing performer.
For beginning students, I like to start with engaging music that develops both the voice and the mind. I focus heavily on understanding music we are working on to inspire research, analysis, character building, acting, and synthesis. I build vocal technique and ability side by side with dramatic interpretation and performance experience. For more advanced students who are either working professionally or preparing for a career, I have a concrete style for learning, exploring, and performing that will prepare students for auditions and roles. However, my technical teaching methods are crafted for each singer and focus deeply on vocal science and life-long success.
My goal with every student is to inspire imagination and creativity through curiosity. I like to ask questions about interpretation which can only be answered through informed opinions. These questions lead to a very personal and unique interpretation of music that allow each student to create their own performance. I provide several methods of inspection that guide students through curiosity to reach their own conclusions. It is the unique performance that captures the hearts of listeners and singers alike, and I have found that magic occurs only after guided investigation.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
