ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

BM, Temple University, Violin Performance, 2018

Overview:
I started studying violin when I was seven, and graduated in 2018 with my Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Temple University. During my time in Philadelphia, I have studied with Davyd Booth of The Philadelphia Orchestra and Meichen Liao-Barnes of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. I have played with many orchestras, and chamber groups, and I love finding new experiences as a musician. I have been teaching private lessons since 2012, and I love to help my students set and meet personal goals and also understand how to make practicing efficient!
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching violin lessons since 2012, and have found it incredibly rewarding to help others experience how fun and fulfilling making music can be. I have experience with all ages, and abilities, including new beginners. I love helping students create personal goals and then figure out effective ways to reach those goals. Watching my students succeed is so rewarding to me, and I love helping students get to the next level. I strive to be the best musician I can be so that I can pass that joy and passion on to my students.
METHODS USED
For all of my beginning students I like to get a feel of what drew them to music and to violin in particular. I want each lesson to be personalized to keep my students interested and eager to learn more. I typically use the Suzuki books because I like the progression of music, and think that the material is well-organized. I don't use the Suzuki method, however. To me the fundamentals of music theory are very important and we will do a lot of singing, clapping, and dancing in lessons. If you can feel the music, you can play the music!
LESSON STYLE
I always want each of my students to be engaged and excited about taking lessons. With this in mind, I tailor each lesson for each individual based on learning styles, goals, age, and practice habits. Everything from the music we learn to the speed at which we progress is designed specifically for the student to give everyone the best chance at success as possible. My goal with teaching is to inspire a love of music and to make lessons and fun and enjoyable time. I don't want to put undue pressure on my students, because that does not lead to growth.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
