Bachelors of Science in Music Education
Delta Epsion Iota-Honor Society Upon Graduation
John Philip Sousa Award-2008
I am a classicaly trained clarinet/sax player. I am self taught on sax since 2005. I can play a little bit of jazz. I graduated from The College of Saint Rose in 2012 with a Bachelors in Music Education. I love teaching others about music so they like myself become passionate about their instruments. I was first chair all throughout High School and into College. I have been in a community band since I was 16 years old and I had the amazing opportunity to study under the great Naomi Drucker and her husband Stanley Drucker. He was first chair of the NY Philharmonic.
My teaching experience goes back to my middle school days as I began teaching lessons after school. Regular practicing on a day to day schedule is a must, It gets you into a routine and you learn to love your instrument more and more each day. I would love for my students to enter competitions and have a goal to reach. I want them to feel good about their accomplishments and to see how much they have progressed!
Essential Elements is usually what I start off with and then go through all the levels of that book and continue. For adults I try and see what level they are at and go from there. Each child/adult should have their own book and have it with them every week.
It is important that each child progresses at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for each one of my students
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
