MM, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Violin Performance BM, Carnegie Mellon University, Violin Performance
I'm a dedicated and passionate instructor who loves sharing music with those around myself. In 2015 I graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a masters in violin performance. Since graduating I have become a freelance violinist in the Bay Area. I completed my undergraduate studies in violin performace at Carnegie Mellon University in May of 2013.
I began teaching when I was in college when I was home in the summer. Since then I've enjoyed coaching chamber groups, leading sectionals and giving lessons. I know that a good practice schedule can be hard for kids but luckily I know many practice games that help keep kids motivated!
For beginning students who are children I like to start with open strings and and eventually transition into using the first Suzuki book. I also like to use Samuel Applebaum books to supplement technique and sight reading. For adults I prefer to ask them what their goals are therefore I can work with him or her to accomplish the goal.
I believe that above all else a teacher should be inspiring and motivating, especially for younger students. "Dare to be musical" was a phrase that one of my former teachers used and I strive to bring that to every lesson that I teach.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
