I have been playing guitar for 20 years, and I have played trumpet off and on for 6 years. I went to McNally Smith College of Music for my first college experience. My focus there was guitar performance. During that time I studied reading music, classical guitar, jazz/pop/ harmony, aural skills, technique, and theory. I was also required to perform on stage every other week in a class which judged our skill set, sound, and performance abilities. Most of my private lessons have been younger students, but I open my lessons up to all ages.
I am now expanding my private lessons. I taught lessons for a little over year, and I have taught friends and family whenever the desire is presented ( 10 years off and on). I have brought music to ABA Therapy practices as well, with children who have special needs. We use drums, keyboards, or guitar whenever desired as a means to explore, hear different tones, and explore what sounds suit their personality and style. Music can be used in any environment and in any situation if given the right tools and inspiration!
I start students with a beginner guitar lesson book of their choice, or parents choice. If the individual does not have a preference, I will choose a book that fits their unique skill level. This will often be a book from Guitar Center, or a local professional music store. What is most important is that the student learns that basics if they are a beginner. If the student is at an intermediate level, we will often choose together, music, or a book that they would find rewarding to learn from.
I tailor my teaching to each individual student. Given my experience in teaching music, and as a Substitute Teacher EA, I know that every student will have their own learning style and objectives. It is my goal to make sure the student is excited to learn. We can start by making short term goals, and then continue to expand on those. If a student struggles with making those goals, I am more than happy to assist them in setting realistic, but advancing goals for each individual. I want the student to feel like they are always making progress.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
