I am a performer and a guitar teacher. I have been teaching guitar and performing live for over fifteen years. I have made my living as a solo acoustic guitarist/singer for wedding, corporate, and fine dining venues across the states but concentrated in Park City, UT and San Diego, CA. I currently work as an entertainer for a highly respected, boutique music production company that specializes in corporate and wedding event entertainment. Aside from my performance responsibilities which include performing acoustic guitar and singing, DJ’ing, and MC’ing events, I must work closely with my clients as well as the event coordinators, caterers, photographer/videographer, and venue staff.
I have an undergrad in Computer Music from UCSD, class of 2015. My studies focused on computer science, technology, culture, and art. I specialized in computer audio. My senior project was a hybrid performance project consisting of a vocalist/guitarist, rapper/MC, and a DJ/Keyboardist. Our playlist included originally written, arranged, and programmed EDM arrangements as well as cover versions of popular songs. I love to see my students succeed at their musical endeavors. I teach a wide variety of styles and taylor my instruction to the students interests while still mixing in sight reading, music theory, practical application, songwriting, vocal development, music technology, and performance. I am currently enrolled in a teacher credentialing program for a Masters of Arts in Teaching.
When teaching students, I know that everyone is different. They have different goals, may learn better with certain strategies, and bring differing pre-existing skills and experience to their instruction. My goal as an instructor, is to help my students develop and pursue goals through challenging but fun lessons that not only engage, but also educates, informs, and applies learning in music theory, sight reading, towards the development of solid guitar technique.
