BS, Roberts Wesleyan College, Music Education
I have been performing music for my whole life and teaching about just as long. In 2015, I completed my degree in Music Education and I consitently research and perform to keep my knowelge and experience base growing. I play in concert halls, churches, parks, and anywhere music is happening and encourage my students to do the same.
I started teaching in while still in High School through a percussion mentor program and I have always had a few students throughout the 10 years since. Mallet percussion was my first love, but I frequently play hand percussion with a number of small groups and orchectra percussion with local bands and guitar at churches. I always emphaisize the why in teaching so my student's arent mindlessly dirlling exercises, but instead working on their own goals as a musican.
I have a wealth of materials on hand to find what apporach works best for each student. For drumset and guitar I tend to work without notation and focus on the sound. If my students haven't learned a new song, or significantly improved an old one by the end of each lesson, then I am not doing my job.
I understand that everyone learns differently so I do my best to approach every topic from several angles. Music will be learned by sight, sound, and even the feel of chorepgraphy to help all types of students complete thier goals

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
