I am a experienced, compassionate music teacher who has the joy of teaching music to all levels, all ages for 15 years. I am proficient in drums, guitar, and piano. I also perform at all local venues, formal events, and have been hired on multiple occasions for studio work. I believe music is a wonderful gift and I enjoy sharing it with my students.
I began teaching as an intern at Temple University. When I earned my degree in music education, I began a more formal teaching method. I have since continued my teaching lessons to students in the comfort of their home. I teach sight reading, ear training a music theory. I believe a combination of all 3 gives my students a very well rounded lesson plan. As the student advances, I encourage song writing and I always encourage students play with other musicians to get a sense of how to be a team player on their musical journey.
I begin with fundamentals and music vocabulary. I ultilize books, flash cards, and a theory book. As the lessons progress, I introduce ear training, music theory, and song writing.
I always encourage my students to practice by way of motivation. Rather than just state it, I will set goals for students. There will be a realistic goal to achieve by the week, the month, and the year. Of course there is no pressure to obtain these goals, The lessons should be fun as well as rewarding. I want my students to love their musical journey, as I still do. I believe a knowledgeable, outgoing, caring teacher makes all the difference. I love what I do, and it is rewarding for both myself and my students when progress is made. I evaluate each student and tailor my lesson plan accordingly. I believe learning how the student learns is the key to delivering the best lesson plan.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
