Directors Award in Performance Kent University
I'm an experienced and very passionate teacher and performer. I have taught students all over Southern California and South East England. I have also been the Executive Director and Owner of a few musical theatre companies in Riverside, Covina, and Kent, England. My retention rate for students is very high and students love to come back due to the personalized and very skill and genre specific curiculum filled with a fun, positive teaching style. I have performed at Carnegie Hall with the Mt San Antonio Chamber Singers and Master Choral, and theatre stages all over England and Southern California.
I have been teaching since 2006 during my course of study at Uc Riverside. In 2007 I left to Kent University where I ran a musical theatre company with over 100 members over two years. Every member had personal lessons as well as group sessions at least once a week in their cycle with the group. I have performed at Canterbury Catheral with a Chamber Choir and a master choral. I also performed at Carnegie Hall in 2010.
I always start off with the basics in order to learn about the students skills and range, then move on to a personalized, genre specific curriculum. I always teach with a base of classical to build a strong base for air and range, then move on to a pop, rock or musical theatre based lesson. After building a base with a student, I push them to further tier skill In their genre of interest. I also like to challenge students with different genres and styles of voice.
My teaching style is very fun, positive lesson with a strict discipline on goals per lesson. I try to mirror each students specific learning habits while teaching different forms as well. Every student has a different voice so although the teaching curriculum may be similar, it is personalized per student. I try to challenge students by testing them with different voice types.
