Performance with Freddie Cole-2011 and 2012
As a performer, I have played in various ensemble and groups in Atlanta and around the country. I've shared the stage or recorded with many local, national and international artists, including Debbie Gibson, The Four Freshman, Lizz Wright, Chris Potter, Scott Wendholt, John Fedchock, Michael Abene, Michael Johnson, Julie Dexter, Ronnie Cuber and many others. Locally, Jason has performed in the majority of the clubs and festivals in Atlanta, including the Atlanta Jazz Festival (1998-2008, various groups) and the Atlanta Montreau Music festival. He has had the opportunity to perform in various Latin, R&B, rock and electronic bands. I have performed in various chamber groups, including theatre productions of "Groucho Marx", “Jekyll and Hyde”, “Grease” and "A Grand Night for Singing", all productions on flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone and tenor saxophone. I have maintained a private teaching studio since I was 17 years old, teaching saxophone, clarinet, flute, music theory and beginning piano
I have taught private students since I was 17. I was a public school educator for 12 years. In both areas, I encourage regluar practice and , along with fundemental studies, finding materials that the students would enjoy playing themselves. I've found that a combination of classical and jazz/mondern repertoire can go a long way in helping students enjoy their chosen instruments and motivate them to practice and continue to lears. My students are encourage to enter competitions and audition for honor groups. I'm always looking to bring on new students of all ages.
For beginning students, I typically start with Essential Elements or standard of excellence. Once a student has progresses to have a gasp of fundementals, I begin t introduce solo repertoire and, if interested, the student begins studies in jazz. I also try to find out what the student is interested in learning and guide the instruction accordingly. I also have the ability to customize lesson plans and materials.
I love to see my students develop a passion for music. I realize that each student learns at a different rate. I set realistic goals for each student in each lesson. By trying to find out what inspies eah student, I can tailor the instruction t their wants and needs.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
