As a two time winner of the West Coast Songwriter's "Song Of The Year" Award, James has performed twice ant their prestigious "Sunset Concert" where he has shared the stage with legendary songwriters Sara Bareilles, Michael Silversher, and Steve Seskin.

 

Overview:
For the past 30 years I have been a full time musician based in the San Francisco Bay Area. During this time I have performed across the United States and have also made numerous trips to Germany, Switzerland and Japan. Over those years I’ve developed a wealth of knowledge and experience that I’m very excited to be sharing with my current students.  They appreciate my patience and warm demeanor as i work with them on their lessons.
EXPERIENCE
Artists I have worked with include Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, the Shirelles, the Dynatones and Bay Area harpist extraodinaire, Carlos Reyes. I have also toured extensively with the Texas based musical "American Jukebox".  
METHODS USED
I would stress that the methods I employ depend on the individual. Although I strongly encourage all my students to learn to read music, I do not insist upon it for everyone. Often I will use various Faber method books and supplement with additional material when appropriate.
LESSON STYLE
I see music lessons as a partnership between the instructor and the student. I like to start this partnership by helping each student clarify their goals. Then we can proceed to plan our path to the stated goals. This plan will, of necessity, be unique to each student.
