I am a passionate and driven student and teacher, pursuing my Bachelor of Music Degree at The Juilliard School as a piano performance major. As an avid performer, I have played at many prestigious venues, such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Kravis Center, the New World Center, Harris Concert Hall, the Breakers, several Steinway Halls, and has performed for the Martha-Mary/Yamaha Concert Series in Miami. Recently, I was a winner of the National YoungArts Competition, the Pathfinder Scholarship Award, and the Arts For Life Scholarship Award, presented by former Florida governor, Jeb Bush. I have attended the Tanglewood Institute and the Aspen Music Festival on fellowship, and have been awarded 1st prize in several competitions, including the FFMC Junior Convention, the Pompano Beach Piano Competition, and the Steinway & Sons Piano Competition. Among other 1st prize wins are two that allowed me to make my concerto debuts with the Greater Miami Youth Symphony and the Dreyfoos Philharmonic Orchestra. At Juilliard, I am also a staff pianist for the College and Prep Divisions, and am a recipient of the Gluck Community Service Fellowship, the Howard & Ethel B. Ross Piano Scholarship, and the Hanna Saxon Piano Scholarship. During my time there, I have had the privilege of being mentored by many sought-after musicians, such as Itzhak Perlman, Rohan de Silva, David Finckel, Areta Zhulla, Robert Levin, and others. Aside from performing, I very much love to teach - my most recent position being a piano instructor with “Through the Staff”, as well as experience teaching several private students of my own in Florida. I currently study with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and Julian Martin.
I have been teaching for about 5 years and I have loved every moment. Even during my high school years, I had about 6 students at a time, even prepping some of them to audition for local music schools in South Florida. Not to mention, I am very comfortable with methods both in-person and online, having learned how to make efficient use of applications like Zoom or Skype in recent years. My students have grown to love music and practicing, which I make sure to cultivate through fun, yet challenging pieces. Nothing is more fruitful than watching a student begin to fulfill their potential!
My teaching approach is very student-oriented, and I make sure that short-term and long-term goals are aimed for! My focus is on classical music, but based on a student's level, I may gear attention toward fundamentals prior to diving into repertoire. However, if your interest is not in classical music, but you are simply hoping to build dexterity and comfortability at the piano, you have come to the right place! Having been blessed with such wonderful teachers throughout my entire life, it would be an honor to carry on their legacy to new, driven students; I believe that what separates a great teacher from a good teacher is one that does not simply tell a student what to do, but rather shows them how to do what they are already doing, even more efficiently. Individuality and self-expression are traits I want to help foster; that is the teacher that I aspire to be. All in all, I am always incredibly enthusiastic to share my insights and experiences with students who embody curiosity and potential!
During each lesson, I like to review fundamentals and encourage the student to ask any questions or raise any concerns. If we are working on a piece, I prefer to hear the student do a run-through of it, without stopping them during their performance; I try to emphasize this practice as much as possible to get them comfortable with playing in front of others. I also like to first address what I really loved about the student's playing, before honing in on aspects that can use improvement; there is always room for improvement, no matter what level you are! At the same time, I strongly encourage technical/physical ease, through a method that embodies the natural alignment of the body, particularly with the arms and hands.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
