In addition to being a Berklee College of Music graduate, I have a Masters in Music Education and a teaching diploma from the University of West London. Also, I am preparing to present my dissertation for my Doctorate in Music Education from Boston University. I know that learning to play any style of music whether it be Classical, Jazz, Blues, Soul, Motown, Funk, Country, or Rock is a challenge, but you can do it with help from an experienced educator. I've never seen anyone fail that wants to learn how to play.
Over the past 20 years, as a teacher, I have tried to instill knowledge and inspire learning. I am deeply committed to innovative instructional design strategies and education. Critical listening and research have provided the foundation for what I hope is the best possible learning experience for my students. I believe in a flexible and personal approach to instruction while still incorporating ear-training, technique, fundamentals, and fun. A curriculum should respond to the unique atmosphere of a lesson while always encouraging students to explore the vast array of musical possibilities and drive beyond their own experience to expand both their knowledge and skill.
Currently, I focus on educational quality and pedagogical need so students, both in private lessons and ensemble situations, can progress as musicians. I strive to instill performance etiquette, arranging skills, the application of theory to an instrument, songwriting, harmony, melodic development, arranging, ear training, and music history. I urge my students to understand the melodic/harmonic relationships in music and to apply their musical knowledge to everything they play. I want students to enjoy their time with me and always to remember why they wanted to learn how to play an instrument in the first place.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
