BA, Dallas Baptist University, Music Business
I'm an experienced performer and musician motivated to share my skills with a new generation of eager learners, no matter what age or experience level. After graduating from Dallas Baptist University in 2010, I entered further into the world of Rock, Jazz and Contemporary Christian music and played with several bands and artists, which I continue to do as a freelance bassist, guitarist and producer. Over the last 10 years I have had many guitar, bass, piano and ukulele students of all levels and ages and I'm eager to find more who are ready to take their playing to a new level or make a fresh start.
I teach beginner adults and children and can structure lessons to fit whatever style and interest a student has in music, performance and composition practices. Classical music theory and methodology are the foundation for my teaching, but I am able to pull in from other sources as necessary. With a bachelors degree in Music Business, I have been teaching privately for over 10 years as well as performing and working in the studio. With experience in several instruments, I can provide crossover education as well as accompaniment in several styles from classical to jazz, as well as composition and songwriting.
In most cases, I used the Mel Bay Expanded Modern Guitar Method book and then move into other editions as the student progresses. I also use the Christopher Parkening Classical Guitar Method book for students more interested in Classical Guitar. For Ukulele I use both Hal Leonard's Ukulele Method Book and Alfred's Kid's Ukulele Course. For Cello and Bass, the Suzuki method books are best in addition to supplemental books for technique and practice method. In addition to those books, I pull from my library of music to find songs that will fit the students taste and goals as a musician.
Each and everyone is different and certain students excel at different techniques at different times, so I like to work in a non-linear fashion at times to bolster certain skills more than others, when there is struggle. When a student begins to progress and take time for consistent practice I encourage them by pulling external material into my lessons and make relationships with what we've been learning and what will be coming soon. I find so much joy when a student tells me that they find peace and happiness when playing their instrument, using it as a means of therapy and escape from life and stressful times and sharing it with their family and friends.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
