I am a passionate and dedicated instructor. I was born in Cuba, where I was admitted to the professional Art School at the age of 7. Violin was my passion, although I combined the study of violin, piano, and other theory courses as well. While I was attending 9th grade I was elected to participate in a Cultural Exchange in Russia. I was graduated top of my class as Violin Instrumentalist and Teacher and Ensemble Practice and Music Theory Courses. Throughout my career I have played in several occasions with the National Symphonic Orchestra in Cuba. With over five years of teaching experience in music academies, and believing in the principle of self-expression, I promote creativity and devotion among my students in the study of music, specially violin and piano.
Motivation and devotion make great musicians. I started acquiring teaching experience in my last year of my education as part of my requisites to graduate. I was accepted into the Elemental Art School in Cuba, where my students were about 7 to 14 years old. After coming to the United States I have continued as a violin and piano instructor in Music Academies, promoting motivation, creativity and devotion among my students. I have realized every student is specially unique, so it is essential to get to know the students' interest and peculiarities to design the right plan to improve and facilitate the learning process.
The lesson plan I use depends on different factors; including students' age, devotion, interests, and the skills they develop overtime. I use the Suzuki Method to emphasizes memorization techniques based on repetition, Hal Leonard Essential Elements for Strings to dominate specific exercises, The Sassmannshaus Tradition for beginners, String Explorer, Wohlfahrt Sixty Sudies , and I very often insert other lessons from various composers to work on an particular technique. I encourage students to open their minds and enjoy the exclusive world of music.
I love to listen the particular interests of my students, so I can develop a program that fits their expectations and aspirations. I encourage students to work on their violin technique, so they can enjoy playing any lesson with the skills necessary for a great performance. Practice and devotion are important to dominate these divine instruments. However, each student progresses at his or her own pace. My work is to find out my students limitations and struggles to improve their quality as a violinist and pianist.
