I have been teaching private lessons since I was in Highschool and am looking to get started up again. Recently I have been traveling the world working on cruise ships, where I was promoted to Band Leader as well as Music Director for all musicians on the ship. I've played with many different groups, ranging from touring all over the USA and Europe with a coutry band, to being a lead actor and drummer for The Buddy Holly Story.
I began teaching in Highscool. While I was doing some musicals on Hilton Head Island I wrote and instructed a drumline. I currently have about 10 students ranging in age and skill level. I can teach any percussion instrument, or drum set. I like to incorporate music listening into all my lessons, so at the end of every lesson we can listen and play with something.
For all ages I like to adjust my methods according to what the student may require. I prefer for students to be learn to read music, however if someone just wants to learn how to play some different styles, I am able to adjust my teaching methods to accomidate that. Also if a student would like to learn orchestral percussion, we could work out a way to get to a school to get on some mallet instruments and/or tympani.
My teaching style is one based on the making goals specific to the needs of the student. If the student prefers to just 'rock out' and they have no interest in jazz, why would we waste our time learning jazz? I prefer to teach at least a basic knowledge of reading music, that way the student can understand how to learn music and what to practice to get better.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
