I'm an experienced performer and private lessons teacher who is enthusiastically pursuing a mission to share the art of music! I graduated from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance. I'm preparing to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music, Fall of 2014, to obtain a Master of Music degree. I've been fortunate enough to have gained performance experience with various ensembles including: BW Guitar Trio with Composer Loris Chobanian, Duo Risch Reichert (viola/guitar), and band experience. I began private music lessons at the age of seven studying trumpet, and at eight I started guitar and bass lessons. Music has been my life for as long as I can remember and I honestly can't imagine another path.
Ever since I began studying music at the age of seven, I knew that I wanted to be a performer, and even more so, a teacher. While studying at BW Conservatory, I began teaching private students in my home studio. Upon graduation, I was offered a position teaching in the Community Music School at BW. I try to take influence from the many great teachers I've had in the past, applying my experiences as a student and as a teacher. I feel that I'm lucky to have studied with all five of my teachers throughout the years, each giving a new perspective that I now can pass to my students. The greatest ideals I've adopted into my teaching: regular practice is the way to success, and earning music, regardless of age, has to be fun!
My teaching philosophy is that everyone is capable of learning to play music with dedication and practice. For any beginning student, I feel that it's important to use a lesson book during study. Typically, I teach using the Mel Bay series, although I am also familiar with Hal Leonard. I believe that it's important to introduce solo pieces alongside book study even for beginners. Students at the Intermediate through Advanced level of study are provided a lesson plan based on their abilities and goals.
My goal as a teacher is to create an individual lesson plan for each of my students based on their future goals. Although my role is to instruct, I am careful not to overshadow a student's own artistic personality. They are the artist! Every student has strengths and weaknesses, and I strive to craft a lesson plan that will compliment your study in the most efficient way.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
