I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who enjoys working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2014, I graduated from Belhaven University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance. I have had numerous opportunities as both performer and educator in the music field. I love working with kids of all ages, and equally enjoy adults looking to further invest in their love of music.
My teaching experience began in college 5 years ago. I first taught privately in two different studios and eventually instructed young choirs part-time at a private school during my senior year. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for musical excellence. Not only does it take consistant practice in order to develop musical skills, it also helps younger children develop solid work habits. I believe music can open doors for learning in any discipline and can help the student progress and gain a passion for their instrument. I enjoy introducing students to new music that not only encourages growth in their talent, but also broadens their musical experience and repertoire. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job!
For young beginners in both voice and piano, I typically begin with literature from the Hal Leonard company. Once the student has progressed in their technique, I will introduce repertoire that requires more work and/or incorporates different styles. For adults, I try to find out what the student is most interested in, and guide my instruction to keep lessons engaging and positive, regardless of ability.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student develops at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for students in each lesson. Acknowledging progress encourages a student to excel, therefore aiding them to yearn for more. By finding out what inspires the student, I can begin to tailor instruction to better fit their needs.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
