I'm a musical entertainer of all genres, who loves being on stage and getting aspiring talent up there too. I've worked for several major cruise lines for seven years, and have toured the globe as a music director, soloist, and member of the show band. Had I not been given the oppourtunity to learn when I was younger, I would've missed out on the fulfilling my passion! I'm currently living in Nashville, filling in for random gigs, touring on the weekends, and enjoying what the scene here has to offer.
After learning guitar at age 13, I started showing my friends and family how to pick one up and strum a chord through simply just being social. This quickly turned into a private business, and soon I began teaching music for the NC's deptarment of Parks & Rec at age 17! I continued to work for the public, doing all ages and eventually children with special needs while taking contracts abroad to perform for the masses. It has helped me understand and define music as an emotion, vibe, or display of passion - be it in a classroom or on a stage - it is not your everyday social studies course.
Instructing young, old, and special needs made me realize no student is the same, and lesson plans need to be individualized to create a comfortable and effective environment in which the student can learn at their own pace with careful guidance. Music students differ; as a teacher I must be able to recognize and lead students who may be better auditory learners as opposed to visual, and vice versa. Above all, students must be comfortable and be able to see me as a peer as well as an instructor. Intimidated learning is a set up for failure!
Again, individualizing and develping comfortable environments are very important, and indeed the upmost priority. Things such as favorite genres, artists, and inspirations are critical into determining how to cater to a particular student. Once that has been established, it is easy to find early ground (even from the artist!) that will be a great place to start - a student can feel like their own inspiration from the beginning! As we continue to fuel the students' ambition, they will reach a point where progress purely is a work of their own

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
