ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:
Berklee College of Music, Musicians Institute, The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences
Overview:
I studied guitar performance and songwriting at Musician's InstituteI in Hollywood CA and Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. I have been In several bands and recorded many times. My musical influences come from classic rock, pop, blues, folk, rock n roll, jam band, bluegrass, acoustic, jazz, reggae, motown, country, R&B, classical…etc.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching guitar and bass lessons for 15+ years. I have taught students of all ages from 5 to 65 and all abilities. Over the years of teaching I have found that every student is unique in the ways that they assimilate course related material. Being able to view a subject from different angles and being able to communicate that subject in different ways, is one of the many ways that I find out how a particular student learns best.
METHODS USED
Being an alumni of both Berklee College of Music and Musicians Institute, I have come to develop my own curriculum drawing heavily from both colleges and also a few other very good resources as well. Students will get the best of both of those curriculums and then some. I will listen to what your expectations and goals are and will support and encourage you so you can hit your goals and push you to the next level.
LESSON STYLE
I tailor my teaching techniques towards both the students interests and needs. I like to think of my teaching style as being fluid. I find how the student learns best and then I build from there. I have found that the best way to keep students engaged and excited about practicing is to learn music and songs they enjoy, and I try to incorporate the necessary technical and theoretical instruction within that framework. I have experience with students of all ages and abilities, and I have been teaching for 15 years. Some of the many topics discussed in my lessons include...Harmony and Theory, Mechanical Techniques, Single String Improv, Rhythm, Reading, Ear Training..etc. Oh and let us not forget FUN!!!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
