One of the most active commercial trumpet players in the Carolinas, I have toured, performed live, recorded or on television with many notable artists including Yanni, Natalie Cole, Bill Gaither, Ron Kenoly, The Temptations, The Four Tops, O'Jays, Spinners, Aretha Franklin,Frankie Valli, Peabo Brison, CeCe Wynans, Melissa Manchester, Ruben Studdard, Linda Rondstadt, Barry Manilow, Maria Howell, Clark Terry, Boots Randolph, Marvin Stamm, and Cecil Welch to name just a few. I am also a first call for touring Broadway shows and have played countless musicals including Grease, A Chorus Line, Sunset Blvd., Guys & Dolls, The Producers, Spamalot, The Rat Pack is Back, you name it, I've probably played it. I can be heard on many jingles, recordings (Sound Choice Karaoke CD’s, for example) and TV sound tracks. A former principal trumpet for the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra (9 years) and still maintain an active schedule with many groups, as well as touring shows/artists.

Each student brings their own set of needs and goals. We will continually talk about what you'd like to achieve, problems you may be having, upcoming performances and how to prepare or, just helping you get a good, starting sound! If you are more advanced, I'll help you through any issues you may be having or guide you to the type of player you want to be. I can work with any student's school method as a supplement. We can work on any of the traditional trumpet method books and techniques (Clarke, Arban, Stamp, etc).
Much depends on the student, but I feel I can adjust to the style you need. I've been fortunate to study and work with some of the best players in the country and learned something from ALL of them! Your situation may seem different to you, but I'm sure there is a solution for you! Some people are nervous! That's okay! I've been nervous, too! ha. I'll help you work to overcome these fears. This is part of performance. I will help drive you towards perfection and, hopefully, make you do some thinking along the way.
