Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from St. Louis University
Hi, I'm Bill. I love helping others foster their passion for music. With over 12 years experience with children and adults of all ages, I can help you become truly proficient at the piano. I teach sight reading, playing by ear, chord theory, technique, and more. I'd also love to help you learn the pieces YOU want to play, whether the style be classical, pop, jazz, spiritual, etc. I can provide references from loyal and satisfied students/parents.
Piano instructor for over 12 years
Director of Music at Notre Dame de La Salette High School for 4 years
Church music director and organist for over 8 years
Many paid performances for wedding receptions and other events
My goal is to help the student become proficient at the piano AND enjoy doing it. I believe in taking a well-rounded and comprehensive approach, but I also tailor the lessons to the student's needs and goals. I don't merely teach how to play pieces. I teach how to practice effectively so students can continue learning and progressing on their own. I also organize student recitals to provide a performance opportunity for interested students to work towards.
I'm very patient and methodical by nature. But I always strive to adapt my teaching style to fit the student's learning style. In general, I try to keep challenging my students to help them grow, while maintaining a positive and fun outlook. I seek to establish a positive reinforcement cycle, where the student takes on a challenge and experiences a payoff upon completion, which in turn motivates the student to take on the next challenge.
Bill has been great with my 2 young children (age 3 & 6). He has integrated games into the lessons - they have enjoyed showing us how to play the games when it is time to practice piano. Bill has been easy to contact and rescheduling has not been a problem if we have a conflict at our regular lesson time.
Bill has been a great teacher for both my 6 yr. old and my 8 yr. old. He is always on time, keeps them engaged, and gives them just enough of a challenge for the next week. They are both beginners, but I am surprised by how much they already know after just a month or so of lessons. Both kids are practicing willingly and look forward to lesson.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
