My lessons consist of listening to the client. You know how you go to the dr and they ask you, what is wrong and you began to try to explain your diagnosis and they put your through a cycle of tests? Well I do the same with my students, my favorite are the shy, quiet types. I am not sure if you call it a lesson for the first time but we sure do have fun and learn a lot. We try to make sure that everyone is comfortable and know the basic before proceeding. I take each person at their own paste, so they can keep up with themselves. I allow them to take notes, bring a voice recording device and water. It is important that you have tools of the trade. I expect each person to come in with a goal and to accomplish it upon leaving. Voice warmups are different based on the need, so I can not be traditional. Customers need to know that we have invested and will continue to invest in our passion of teaching and giving others opportunities to do the same.It is important to know more than one style of teaching. For example, NATS (National Association for Teachers of Singing) we share ideas and it keeps us current and up to date on new trends and ideas. You know what I love most? We make sure that the person has everything they need and if one teacher can not give it to them, we send them to the next to get what they need. We work as a family unit to ensure the best quality of the client.
