Bachelors Degree, Songwriting Berklee College of Music
I've written and produced for various major artist such as Lil Wayne , Trey Songz, Jacob Latimore, Eric Bellinger, Tory Lanez and more. My own project "The Other Side" reached number 1 on the ITunes R/B charts. I have performed on the national stage on BET's 106 and Park. The song I wrote for international reggae star Sean Paul and Tory Lanez "Tek Weh Yuh Heart" has played numerous times on national radio across the world. Music is my passion.
Music is my life! Every since an early age I had a strong passion for music. Growing up in church playing drums and singing in the choir cultivated that passion into a career. After high school I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where I receive a Bachelors in Songwriting. I’ve been living in Atlanta for nine years and have been blessed to live my dream by working in the music industry. I am more than willing to share my knowledge and love of music to the next generation. That is the key to building the best music community we possibly can.
My teaching experience dates back to 2011 where I was a para educator for the Lincoln Public Schools system in Lincoln, Nebraska. I worked with kids in special education. I also have organized a music camp in my hometown of Lincoln in 2018 and 2019 called “Inspire to Dream Music Camp.” We chose twelve to fifteen high school students to participate in writing and record an original piece of work with a chart topping musician from the music industry. I love helping young people stay encouraged about learning music.
For beginning students I love the Alfreds collection of music books. I also believe in learning the fundamentals of music on every level. Teaching music is just like building a home, the foundation has to be strong. Without a strong foundation a house will be weak and potentially might fall. I also think it’s imperative to make the lesson relatable to the students by finding out their interest and also their goals for the lessons. My job is to assist them on their journey. I love helping students achieve their music goals.
I am a firm believer in meeting students where they are at in their musical journey. I want to go their pace. I want them to feel comfortable. As a person who also played sports, I make the comparison of training in music to training in sports often . Practice and repetition is vital to the success music. I like to draw parallels to other extra curricular activities that they also might be participating in , so any hardships in music can be seen as possible and the lessons learned can be applied in all areas.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
