I'm a professional musician with a passion for performing and sharing my musical knowledge with others. Coming from a musical family, I have been exposed to a wide range of styles all my life. I earned my Bachelors Degree from University of the Arts in Philadelphia in Instrumental Performance: Jazz Studies. It gave me the opportunity to meet and play with some great musicians, and make good friends in the process. I teach at my home studio or online via skype. My studio is equipped with amps, stands, cables and a computer set up for listening to tunes. All you need is your guitar or bass.
My teaching days began toward the end of high school, when I started giving lessons to many of the local kids. I lived around a lot of musicians and really enjoyed being a part of their growth as aspiring artists. What started as a fun hobby, turned into a career. I studied teaching in college, but have been teaching privately for over 10 years now. Each student brings new challenges and excitement. I get to meet interesting people, as well as talk about my favorite thing in the world...Music!
My lessons are catered to the interests of each student. Some students want to learn theory and proper technique, while other want to learn to jam to their favorite songs. Whether it be learning scales, finding sheet music, analyzing recordings, or working through a method book, I give my students the tools they need to accomplish their goals and have fun doing it!
I like to create a friendly and stress free environment for lessons that are both fun and rewarding. Having a good relationship with my students is very important to me. Part of being a good teacher is being a good listener. By understanding the goals of my students, I can create personalized lessons plans that will motivate and help them feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of each lesson. Helping students succeed is what teaching is all about for me.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
