M.M. Violin Performance, full scholarship, University of Southern California
I recently completed my Master of Music degree as a full scholarship student, at the University of Southern California under the tutelage of Kathleen Winkler. Post graduation, I joined the Stockton Symphony as a member of the first violin section. A passionate orchestral musician, I've served as the concertmaster of both the Classical Symphony in Chicago and the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, and played under the baton of numerous influential conductors including James Conlon, Joseph Silverstein, Leonard Slatkin, and Carl St.Clair. Prior to my move to California, I received both my Bachelor of Music, as well as my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Northwestern University, where I studied with world renowned pedagogues Almita and Roland Vamos. I am as committed to teaching as I am to performing, and have worked over 10 years with students of all ages. I currently hold a private studio of both violin and piano students. References are available upon request.
I have been teaching students of all ages and abilites for over 10 years. I tailor each lesson to the specific needs and personality of each student. Whether you're a beginner, a student at school who needs some extra help with orchestra music, or an adult who would like to finally learn to play an instrument or pick up an old one, we can work together to figure out a lesson plan that suits your needs.
I teach primarily with Suzuki Method Books for violin, and for more advanced students, supplementary materials such as etudes, scales, and technical exercises is included. My piano students are taught with the Alfred book series. During lessons, ear training, rhythmic proficiency, sightreading, and theory will also be taught.
I tailor each and every lesson to suit the needs and personality of the student. Lessons can be taught in english or mandarin chinese.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
