Aaron Copland School of Music Berklee College of Music
2014 Berklee College of Music American Tour Scholarship
I am a passionate, patient, and caring teacher who shares my love and expertise of music with my students. My studies include music theory, classical guitar, jazz, flamenco, and arabic music. Ive performed with several groups and have played venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Berklee Performance Center.
With over 15 years of experience, I have taught students of all levels and ages, preparing for auditions, performances, and for their own personal enjoyment. All my students receive a strong technical training allowing them to play any style they wish and meet any challenge they come across. Reading music and working on music of the students choice is part of the curriculum as well as recitals/performances whenever possible. Some of my students have been accepted to prestigious music schools and programs.
I have numerous technical exercises I developed over the years that allow students to develop quickly and properly. The development of a great sound is always part of the work. As each student is unique in their needs, I tailor the lessons and approach to the student. I customize exercises and develop new exercises for the student as needed. Books such as the Hal Leonard books and the Aaron Shearer books are used. Each student I have chooses the music we work on. When possible, I like to bring some students together to perform.
I find it important for the student to learn the concepts clearly so they can be their own teacher. This is important as the student will typically only see me once a week and the biggest work is done at home. Therefore the student needs to be correcting him/herself during the practice session. When I see a student correct their own mistakes I know we have achieved something important. Along with the technical and musical instruction, I like to incorporate music history when relevant. I encourage my students to see how important music is. That as long as there have been humans, there has been music.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
