Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Piano, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Clarinet
Teaching is not only my career. Teaching should be done by excellent, highly qualified people that want to make an investment in children/adults. My very first piano teacher, Diane, had an incredible impact on me... If the notes weren't right or if the counting was a little wonkey, she rarely let it slide, and she helped me to form habits that were both helpful and advantageous to all my future progress. This teaching style might sound exacting, but I believe my students have always benefitted from and enjoyed both the challenges and the fun of making music!
Instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Clarinet
Teaching Methods: For all of my students, I stress the importance of fundamentals. Although I do use method books such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, I like to tailor warm ups and fundamentals to each of my students. Then, I like to incorporate the fundamentals into familiar songs and exercises to keep the lessons engaging and fun. I strive to give my students practical knowledge that they can use to be successful in any circumstance. Lastly, I encourage my students to perform as much as they can for family members, student recitals, and other opportunities in order to develop confidence and a love for what they are doing.
Teaching Styles: My teaching style revolves around getting to know my student and his or her abilities/playing style. No two students learn exactly the same way, and giving one on one instruction is where we can work together to develop and progress in a customized way. I approach any kind of teaching as team work. We work together by me giving guidance and the student practicing so both of us reach our desired goals. Nothing is more rewarding that seeing a student succeed and develop a passion for what he or she is doing.

I began teaching back in my sophomore year of high school when one of my friends wanted to learn how to play the piano. I gave them half hour lessons once a week and tailored my teaching to fit what techniques they wanted to learn. After that, I began branching out and teaching other friends, and eventually found myself helping out the middle school bands during my study hall. Now that I am in college, my own playing has improved and I have found new ways to connect and teach students whether that be in person, or by using technology such as skype. I find that the key part of playing an instrument, especially for beginners, is to have fun; if the student doesn't enjoy their instrument, then I am not teaching them properly. Similarly, I encourage my students to perform in front of others because I find that showing others what you have learned helps encourage more practice and enjoyment when playing.
