I'm an ambitious and highly self-motivated teacher who loves to share his passion for singing and music with his students. I hold a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music, and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance (Musical Theatre Concentration) with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University. For most students, I typically start with breathing exercises and warm ups to learn the student's voice. I would ask for the student to prepare a song of their choice and we would typically spend a few lessons learning the fundamentals and engaging in proper technique. For those students (both children and adults) who are just beginning lessons, we will focus on the development of basic technique. This is centered around breathing, posture, and basic musicianship. We will spend time working on basic notes, rhythms, and ear-training in addition to vocalizing and learning songs to help develop and reinforce what we learn in our exercises.
