If you want a healthy voice, you need a healthy body. That means eating a balanced diet, exercising every day, resting properly and reducing stress. Start with meals and snacks that include fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Drink plenty of water, not beverages loaded with sugar or caffeine. Stop smoking, and spend time each day doing exercises that expand your lung capacity and keep your body fit. Set and keep a regular bedtime, and reduce stress through meditation or by perhaps practicing yoga every day. Rest your voice too instead of screaming or yelling. With your healthy body, enjoy a healthy voice.

Vocal lessons will cover various aspects of singing, such as vocal technique, song interpretation and developing a personal singing style. During lessons, students will work through different exercises that are designed to workout and develop different aspects of the voice. Students will practice exercises such as sirens on an octave scale, as these are great for helping to develop the necessary timing and coordination needed to cross vocal registers and start building vocal range. Developing range requires maintaining vocal fold compression through the passagio and into the head voice, tilting the thyroid cartilage and modifying closed vowel sounds to open vowels. Students will also learn how to support their voices with good breath management and can apply the techniques learnt to songs of various genres. Students can also improve their tone, pitching and musical theory knowledge, as well as prepare for gigs, recording sessions or auditions.
Learning how to sing can be a great musical endeavor for adults of all ages. Lessons are customized with the specific goals of the student in mind, and focus around learning safe, effective and contemporary vocal techniques. For many students, taking lessons is about finding a new hobby or getting to practice something they have always enjoyed doing. Others may wish to join a choir or band, or maybe would like to prepare for an audition. We have trained students to sing at auditions for American Idol, The Voice and The X Factor.
For a child, learning to sing is fun, rewarding and vastly beneficial to their overall development. Students can improve their concentration levels, raise their self-esteem and confidence, develop a positive, hard-working attitude as well as a habit of self-discipline through regular practice and lessons. Learning to sing from a young age will give students a great vocal foundation from which to build when their voices are fully developed. Students can also learn to sing on pitch from a young age, as well as learn the correct breathing techniques, vocal agility and basic theoretical knowledge.
