My primary goal is to help young students develop a love and deep appreciation for music, which is accomplished through patience, instruction, encouragement and developing incremental levels for each students progress. I also consider myself to be excellent in teamwork projects, as I am always willing to learn from others and am very cooperative in any form of group dynamic. For my beginning students, I typically start with scales, then some technical exercises that usually come from Simon Fischer Basics book, and a short piece that employ one of the scales with the techniques. Once the student understands the fundamentals, I introduce solo repertoire that is considered essential to know for their instrument as well as sight-reading techniques. Once the student becomes more advanced, I show them works that I believe will peak their interest along with pieces that are overlooked such as pieces by women or minority composers. Read More

I believe that every individual is special, and as a teacher I am most satisfied when I can help my students express themselves through music. Sharing my knowledge with my students and seeing them achieve something they worked hard for, and being part of the process is one of the biggest joys in teaching for me. I always aim to help my students produce a beautiful tone, while making sure they are not doing wrong physical movements that would make things difficult. I remember when I helped a 6 year old start the violin from scratch, and not too long after, she was able to play happy birthday to her grandparents and even on her own birthday. Read More

I am a patient, enthusiastic instructor passionate about working with all kinds of students! In May 2023, I graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. I took German all throughout college and have a 3+ year streak in German and Spanish on Duolingo! I recently performed with the Altschuler Summer Music Institute in Rimini, Italy through the Clare Hodgson Meeker Fellowship. Read More
