Hello! I'm a versatile musician with a wide variety of skills and experience! I'm a classically trained violinist and singer with a background in musical theater. Vocal students are encouraged to pick songs from whatever genre sparks their interest.  With violin and viola I use the suzuki method of training and follow the books and lessons, and I use other books to supplement scales/technique.  If a student already has musical literature I am very open to using that to build a specific curriculum for that student. For my beginning piano students, I like to start with Alfreds performance books and music theory to help assist the note and music reading. My cello students that are still in the beginning stages I like to have using the Suzuki books to help work towards more advanced music and skills. My voice students are all very different so I shape our lesson methods based on what style of singing theyre interested in, but we always begin working on proper breathing and learning solfege. I believe motivation is most important when students learn something. The rewards are worthy working for. If they get to be able to play and sight read, they will be proud of themselves. I encourage pupils build self-esteem, confidence and strength. I am very organized in my work, I am able to plan my lessons carefully ensuring that I cover everything on the syllabus and I plan my time well, making sure that I spend enough time with a student who is preparing for a music exam or with many students before a performance that we are putting on.
