Beginner trumpets are relatively cheap and available through many music shops or instrument catalogs. Some music shops can also provide rentals. For the budget-conscious customer, used trumpets are also an option, but it is strongly recommended that the buyer purchase at least a new mouthpiece. Something to look for with a used trumpet is to be sure that the instrument can be taken apart and put together easily and is relatively free of dents. Our trumpet instructors can also help with the selection of an instrument and all the accessories required to keep it in great condition.

Topics covered during Musika's trumpet lessons may include, but are not limited to: correct embouchure formation, how to shape your lips and buzz, proper breathing and posture, how to develop a solid tone, how to hold, assemble, and clean the instrument properly, how to read music: rhythms, note names, dynamics, and most importantly, how to have fun playing the trumpet!

We love adult students! We have adults who begin trumpet lessons as complete beginners, some who haven't played their trumpet in over 10 years, and some who are more advanced students looking to take their skills to the next level. Our teachers have proven methods to get you the results you desire.

Our recommended starting age for the trumpet is 8. The instrument requires a good amount of lung capacity as well as physical strength in the muscles around the mouth. While a younger student could possibly be physically able to play the instrument, this is somewhat rare.
