Overview:
I graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Ukraine, studying double bass and electric bass. I received my PHD Degree in Music and Arts. I was a full time performer at the symphony orchestra and Opera house, as well as a member of Folk band on double bass, regularly playing electric bass at the night restaurants and all kinds of festivals. 23 years ago, I moved to US and continued my musical education at New York University.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching music lessons in one form or another since I was 15 years old. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is very important to students as it helps them progress and gain love and passion for the instrument. My students are encouraged to work on their own materials, so it helps them out to grow as an artist and performer. Also, I am a full time member of a professional wedding band and Jazz fusion band.
METHODS USED
I teach students to have a love and passion for music and a yearning to learn new things in music. I have the ability to use different methods and techniques while dealing with students belonging to different age levels. I understand their needs and their short and long term goals, and I change the methods of teaching accordingly. I have an exceptional ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
LESSON STYLE
I develop fundamentals of music theory such as note-reading, tablature, chords, scales, arpeggios and various techniques. I ensure that sessions are conducted in a friendly manner while maintaining discipline as well.
