I have endorsements with StoneBridge Guitars, K&K Pickups, Journey Instruments Guitars, and John Pearse Strings.

Overview:
My name is Scott, and I am a driven, passionate and expressive lover of music. I picked up the guitar at a late age (15) and for 20 years have toured the country performing and recording. I am driven to teach people about the guitar because it has been the most consistant and positive force in my life. I have seen all of my dreams become reality and if I can help anyone from children to the elderly find that missing thing in their life or to achieve their goals? Thats just the icing on an already delicious cake!
EXPERIENCE
About 10 years ago I took a brief break from touring and, at a friends insistence, took on a few students. The excitement I would feel as I watched them go from absolute beginners to being proficient and, in some cases, performers themselves is indescribable. I have taught all ages from 6 to giving pro players a few tips and helping them brush up on their techniques. Any opppurtunity to share my knowledge with someone else is always relished. With younger kids I try to focus on keeping things fun and light. We'll learn basic chords and current pop songs depending on their level. With my more intermediate and experienced students I focus more on theory and technique. I believe I have something to offer anyone of any skill level.
METHODS USED
For beginner students I start with chord shapes. We'll learn what notes are in the chord, where to find the root note of the chord everywhere on the fret board and how to play that chord in multiple postions. Then we work on switching chords in basic progressions and later we move onto scales. For my intermediate students its more about technique and theory. We'll focus heavily on scales and modes and their relationship to each other. I'll teach them all the "tricks" I use when playing and writing. I teach a mix of what I believe are the fundamentals and what the student wants to learn. If you're older and you just want to learn how to play some good ole rock n roll we can do that too!
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style varies from student to student. Playing the guitar is the most fun I have at any point during the day and thats what I want to impart to the student. Fun! I also belove in repetition. Playing scales over and over by yourself, sometimes, isnt so much fun so while i will have a strict regimen of practice it will be structured in an interesting and enjoyable format for both the student and whomever happens to be around, listening! I also ask that parents encourage their children to practice. The lesson is only the beginning. The practice is up to you, or your child, to do. Again, who doesnt want to practice? Playing the guitar is fun!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
