Overview:
I studied guitar with international performing artist Anna Maria Rosado and composition with American composer Annette Le Siege.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Guitar Performance from New Jersey City University.  I have performed extensively in small venues throughout Vermont, and was a house musician for several seasons at the Yosemite Theater in Yosemite National Park, California. I have been teaching for over 30 years. Most of my students describe me as fun and patient. I feel that music is a gift given to me, and my goal is to pass that gift on.
EXPERIENCE
I have over 30 years of experience teaching both private and group lessons. I have taught several special needs students, and  have successfully incorporated many of these students into mainstream settings. My students range in age for 6-80, and I am capable of teaching all styles and levels.  My focus is on individualized lesson plans that address the particular students needs and interests. My hobbies include learning various instruments, and arranging and recording various folk styles from around the world. ,
METHODS USED

Every new student comes to their first lesson with particular skills and musical interests. My job is to assess the students abilities and lead them down the appropriate paths to achieving their musical goals. My goal is to cultivate musicianship.  Students are encouraged to develop technical skills as a means of creative and emotional expression.  Sight reading and improvisation are taught simultaneously with music theory and composition. Through individualized lessons and ensemble experience, students are encouraged to reproduce and create music as early as possible.

LESSON STYLE

My teaching style can most accurately be described as patient and creative. Music should be fun. The student should enjoy practicing.  It is my job to create a lesson plan that allows a student to progress steadily, without straining the limits of their abilities. I feel that it is important to focus on the individuals goals and interests so that each lesson is meaningful to that particular student..I focus on music, not exercises. I teach theory and composition as in integrated part of my curriculum, and encourage improvisation as a part of the students musical development.
