Overview:
I am a musician in many aspects...mainly as a music teacher in Albuquerque Public Schools, and also my job in the Army as a member of the 44th Army Band. I also teach private lessons at a local studio, and I can be found in Old Town on Wednesday and sometimes Saturday nights jamming with the Jazz musicians of this wonderful city. I have taught choir and band from the 5th grade level all the way up through high school including subjects like music theory, jazz band, treble choir, marching band, and percussion ensemble. I have also taught general music from kindergarten up through 5th grade, and assisted bands at the university level. My performance experience has taken me to many wonderful places--College bowl games and the NCAA Tournaments to international hotspots such as Bogota, Columbia and even as far away as China. I have also been fortunate enough to perform with musical icons such as Doc Severinson, Mariachi Cobre, Byron Stripling, John Fedchock, Bobby Shew, Five by Design, Club Swing, the Harry James Orchestra, Andre Williams, and notable groups such as the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra, Phil Campo and the "Loose Change" Jazz band, the Salt Lake Alternative Jazz Orchestra, and many others.

I believe teaching music doesn’t just teach music—it teaches us life skills that are applicable to any field and any situation. My teaching philosophy is a mix of many ideas, and I believe it is more successful the more places I incorporate ideas from.
