Overview:

Music has been my passion since grade school.  I began teaching in the fall of 2006 and have engaged with students of all ages.  I welcome the wide eyed enthusiastic child who can't wait to learn and perform, as well as the reluctant, but determined adult who just wants to play for fun or take on a new challenge.   After attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston for 2 years, I joined Merrimack Valley's favorite local band the B. Street Bombers where I performed all over New England playing trombone, piano, percussion and vocals from 1986 to 2005. In 2006 my wife and I moved to California where I was Music Director at the Rock Church from 2007 to 2014.  After a brief stint in San Diego my wife and I recently moved back to Bradford, Mass which is the location of my teaching and recording studio. You can catch me playing locally with the B. Street Bombers, the River City Band and the Lakes Region Big Band. My main instrument in trombone in which I can teach beginner to advanced. However I also teach, bass, drums piano, trumpet, baritone horn and tuba where I am able to teach at a beginner to intermediate level.

EXPERIENCE

Music professional with 30+ years experience in live performance, studio recording, soundtrack recording, large/small band and private 1 on 1 teaching. Driven by the love and possibilities of music in the lives of people of all ages.  Stellar relationship skills, making each student feel special and unique in their abilities. Personable, empathetic, and quick to put people at ease; forges long-term relationships based on trust, collaboration, and exceeding expectations.

METHODS USED

Currently I use the Hal Leonard series which I believe is best for beginner and intermediate students.  I typically give advanced students a variety of choices that best suites their playing style.  It is important to keep the student focused while making lesson time enjoyable as well as educational.

LESSON STYLE

I feel that it is best not to use the cookie cutter approach to teaching music. Each student is unique in their own way and is able to learn and apply musical concepts differently; therefore I take a careful and studious approach to make sure that my students have the best advantage by creating a custom lesson plan specific to their learning pace.  I do my best to make it fun and engaging while increasing their ability and knowledge of music as it applies to their instrument.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
