Performed in several professional operas in America and abroad.

Overview:
TashaRenee was 3 years old singing her first solo, “God Is”, at church and she hasn’t shut up since. She says “singing is just a part of who I am." TashaRenee is a great eclectic vocalist that has been singing all of her life. Although she has gospel roots, she decided to learn more about music as an undergraduate and graduate student in the Music-vocal performance degree programs. She has been a part of several casts in Operas across the nation, with her professional Opera debut being the Strawberry Woman in Porgy and Bess in New Orleans, Louisiana. She also studied voice in Italy and was able to perform gospel music at the Leaning Tower of Pisa and classical music at the Teatro Verdi. Not only has she been featured among some of Classical music’s celebrities; she has also sung background for some the best in Gospel, R&B, and Country music in the business.
In the Gospel arena she has done background for Lisa McClendon, Leon Timbo, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Karen Clark-Sheard, Vicki Winans, Marvin Sapp, Dorinda Clark-Cole just to name a few. She has sung in the Full Gospel Baptist Mass Recording Choir, Life Center Cathedral Mass Choir, and the Louisiana State Full Gospel Recording Choir where she was also a featured soloist. She has sung background for the powerful Mrs. Ann Nesby, Eric Benet, Michael McDonald, and Wynonna Judd. She was one of the featured background singers for the AARP Songs of Soul concert at Philips Arena. She worked with such notable artists as: Debbie Allen, Ann Nesby, Chaka Khan, Pastor Shirley Ceasar, CeCe Winans, Queen Latifah, Patti Austin, Yolanda Adams, Dionne Warwick, Paris Bennett, and little Miss Jamiah from the movie August Rush. Currently she is working on her own project that will energize and captivate the audience in a nostalgic, yet unique and unconventional way; pushing the boundaries of how we see music today!
TashaRenee has also been seen in several professional movies. She was in the Lifetime original movie For One Night with Raven Symone and also apart of Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail to name a few. She has acted in several traveling plays, musicals, and operas across America.
TashaRenee has been teaching piano, voice and acting privately since 1999. She has been training choirs since she was 13 years old. She brings a wealth of God given wisdom, educational knowledge and experience to the table for all of her students. Allow TashaRenee to help you perfect the gift within you!
EXPERIENCE
TashaRenee has been teaching privately since 1999. She got into teaching while in college her teacher needed to be out for a few weeks and she told her that she would intrust her students to TashaRenee while she was gone. From then on TashaRenee has been training, coaching, and teaching students of all ages how to be the best actor, singer, and musician they can be. She is a firm believer that the Arts help everyone to learn about themselves, who they are, and realize what they are capable of doing. The Arts give life and she is there to help you actualize your dream.
METHODS USED
Students are not the same therefore each method is different. The introductory lesson is used to get to know the student and what it is that they need and a program or methodolgy is designed based on that student's needs.
For singers, it’s difficult to sing without acting, even if it is as yourself. One method I use is to teach acting and singing together. The art of performance is necessary.
For pianist, some want to learn how to play by ear and some want to learn to read. I believe that reading is essential. At least understanding the basics and then we move on to full on reading or playing by ear. No matter which way you choose it’s a fun experience.
LESSON STYLE
Fun is the goal of each student because a student enjoying themselves will always want to practice and be successful. I try to incorporate as much learning in a light, fun filled environment as possible to keep the student interested.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for their gift/talent. Therefore, it’s important that each student develops at their own pace. We set realistic goals together and then I create a program based on those goals. We find inspirations that keep the student moving forward and the student achieves their goals quickly. Once a goal is accomplished we dream even bigger.
