ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:
  • Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University- 2011
  • Master of Music in Cello and Suzuki Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music- in progress
  • Trained in the Suzuki method through book 4
Overview:

Originally from Seattle, I spent four years in Baltimore while completing my Bachelor's degree at the Peabody Institute. I moved to Cleveland about a year ago to begin my Master's at CIM. As someone who is still a student myself, I believe that I bring a youthful and exciting approach to teaching the cello.

EXPERIENCE

I have assisted in public schools and taught privately for the past six years, with particular expertise in working with very young children.

METHODS USED

Suzuki Method

LESSON STYLE

For younger students, I emphasize eartraining, comfort with the instrument, and parental involvement. Lessons are very structured but fun; I believe that students retain the most knowledge when they are having fun!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
