Overview:
I am passionate about teaching and perfoming music. I have been playing the clarinet for over 14 years, saxophone for 6 and all others for 4 years. During my time in college, I participated in numerous ensmbles that allowed me to play all of the insturments I teach. I want to help my students get as much joy and appreciation of music that I do. 
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching private lessons since 2011, during my time in college. I have taught a wide range of insturments ranging from woodwinds like clarinet and flute to brass insturments like trumpet and baritone. I encourage a regular and consitent practice schedule, since it tends to help students progress and gain a passion for their insturment. All of my stuents are encoraged to participate in any esemble and solo competitons that are available, so that they can gain new and exciting experiences. 
METHODS USED
My methods vary between each student. For beginning students, that are not learning in a school setting, I typlically start with Hal Lenard's Essential Elements For Band. Once the student had progressed, I will start to introduce solo repetoire that the student will be instested in, which could be pop tunes or other type of music. This will encourage the student's passion for music to grow. If the student is in a school setting, then the student will work on all of the music for school and solo repetoire. For all other students, I try to find what the student is interested in and create lessons that are engaging and fun, no matter what their ability level is.
LESSON STYLE
I am always trying to have a fun lesson. I know that some students are in school all day and are tired by the end of the day, so I create obtainable goals for each student. Each week we will be able to see the progress that they have made without feeling discouraged that they did not reach a certain number in their method book. I want all of my students to work hard and I know all of my students can suceed.
