Overview:
I am an experienced and versatile musical performer, composer, and educator who has experience working with pupils of all levels aged four to sixty. I have held teaching positions at music schools and summer programs offering education in youth jazz and wind ensembles, group and private lessons, general music, and music technology.  Some of my additional experience includes developing curriculum, organizing and scheduling youth music programs, and instructing a bilingual classroom of English and Spanish speakers.
EXPERIENCE
. I began teaching private lessons and tutoring students in harmony and ear training nine years ago. Since then, I have also taught lessons to brass player, as well as music theory, ear training, composition, and improvisation, to pupils of all levels and ages. I have also directed sectionals for brass and woodwind players in youth wind ensembles. Some of my specific experience includes coordinating youth ensemble programming, teaching group and private lessons, developing and implementing curriculum, teaching general music, using music software and technology to enrich the learning process, instructing a bilingual classroom of Spanish and English speakers.
METHODS USED
I provide each and every student with customized curriculum to fit their goals. Some students want to be prepared for auditions at school for jazz band or orchestra, others want to work towards Districts and All State Auditions. I work to build a solid technical foundation while also fostering creative growth. I like to tap into a student's particular interests and identify the lens through which they can appreciate and love music. Music is around all of us in so many ways, and the way we experience music is always changing. Some of my students want to work on melodies from video games, sometimes from a film or TV show, others want to be able to play along with pop songs they enjoy listening to.
LESSON STYLE
As an educator, I am flexible, patient, positive and fun-loving, and strive to engage each and every student. I want each student to move at a pace that is comfortable for them, and want to ensure that there are no learning gaps or plateaus in understanding of content before encouraging a student to move on. I love when a student leaves a lesson with a smile on their face and when they are truly having fun with music- I know I did my job well. I wish to help each of my students realize their goals and become prepared for the next step in their musical journey, whatever that may be.

Jenn has been a fantastic teacher. I started off not knowing how to make a sound with the trumpet a little under a month ago and I'm already able to improv Jazz in Bb, whatever that means. She's incredibly knowledgeable about trumpet and music theory and is able to synthesize this knowledge into incredibly fluid forty-five minute lessons. I highly recommend her to anybody thinking of taking lessons.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
