2015- My song "Frozen Ice" was placed in the show "Dance Moms." The girls (including Maddie Ziegler) used the song for one of their performances.

2014- Seven songs were featured in the film The Worst Year of My Life, which debuted recently at the Dances with Films Festival at the Chinese Theaters in LA.

2013- Co-founded Noise Collective, a grassroots organization which connects musicians and music industry, heading a songwriting workshop program through them.

2012- Played the Tinderbox Music Festival at Webster Hall in NYC.

2011- Released independent EP, which garnered praise from all over the internet, totalling 500,000 blog impressions

2009- Released debut album, and became a full-time musician and teacher, playing 70 dates per year.

Overview:

Hello! I'm a singer, songwriter, and music teacher from Brooklyn, NY. I have a formal musical education, with a degree in composition from Purchase College, (Regina Spektor also graduated from this program!), 6 years of experience as a solo performer, and worked extensively in recent years on writing songs, and releasing recordings (my producer plays keys for Ingrid Michaelson!)

EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for 6 years, specializing in one-on-one lessons, loving the thrill of helping students grow to their fullest potential. I started taking on private students while in between shows and gigs in 2009, and haven't looked back. It is now my full-time job, and I love it! I also had magical experiences teaching and mentoring kids at an wonderful summer camp in New Jersey the past few summers. I taught guitar and songwriting classes, as well as managed rock bands. I'm more psyched to help people feel the joy of music than ever before!!

METHODS USED

Everyone has their own unique voice, and we will find yours together! I have training in several technique-driven styles, including classical and broadway. However, I like to mix and match. I'm not interested in teaching one certain way- I listen on the fly, and make judgment calls according whatever makes YOU sound best. My guitar lessons are geared toward songwriting and accompaniment. I stress simplicity, expressiveness, and real-world performance skills.

LESSON STYLE

I'm all about creating a good balance of learning practical skills, building confidence, and having fun (a very underrated aspect of music lessons.) We will cover new ground every time we meet, and go at your pace. My personal goal is for you to leave the lesson feeling great about your creative future, and eager to learn more.
