BA Music, concentration in String Bass. Wayne State University Studied under Max Janowsky and Larry Hutchinson of Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Graduate studies at Oberlin Concervatory with Peter Dominguez, Scott Dixon (CSO), and Francois Rabbath (String bass Virtuoso)
Awards:
2009- Signed to Live TMG records for Jive Records A&R showcase at Music Hall, Detroit
2010- Released full length "Petal Shop: City Hymns" and national tours in support of album.
2011- Solo Bassist for National Arabic Orchestra's annual Gala Concert.
2012- Michigan Band Directors Association Honor Award, WSU Symphonic Wind Symphony.
2013- Solo Bassist in National Arab Orchestra's 1st annual Gala concert.
2014- National/International tours under stagename "JAWZ" and with Downtown Brown.
2015- Invited to "The Voice" (NBC) private auditions and seleced by casting producers.
Overview:
I have been playing music for the vast majority of my life, it is my passion and purpose in life. I play a multitude of genres and instruments because I love to be able to speak every dialect of Great Communicator, the universal language that is Music. I have played in Arabic, Jazz, Folk, Country, Metal, Funk, large Orchestras, small chamber classical music throughout my varied carreer as a performer and I thouroughly enjoy catering my education approach to my student's individual tastes.
EXPERIENCE
I have opened for National and International acts such as Dead Kennedy's, Powerman 5000, The Aristocrats (Guthrie Goven), Fishbone, Lucky Tubb (Ernest Tubb III), .357 String Band, Angry Samoans, Sixto Rodrigues (Sugarman), Mike Dillon (Primus), and many others. Touring solo and with groups on a National scale since 2010.
METHODS USED
My curriculum is largely up to my student, I write custom excercises as well as reenforce musical notation through transcription of the student's favorite music. Being classically trained I place a heavy importance on technique and the physical attributes of playing string instruments. I can hope to instill the passion I feel for music in my students lives, I believe music is the spice of life and inevitably enriching to the player!

Customized approach to idividual students, Ensemble learning in group settings. Classically influenced technique. Emphasis on REAL WORLD application of technique, theory, and improvisation.
