I am dedicated, persistent, and reliable. I am willing to learn and keep learning for the advancement of myself and my students. A well-rounded appreciation for music as well as critical listening and ear-training skills will be taught.  I also maintain a pretty fast paced lesson, enabling the student to have plenty of practice material, technique studies, and goals to meet. I will record the student's progress electronically so that the student may better understand and learn from their lessons. I will inspire my student’s, positively influencing and encouraging them along our journey of musical discovery. This alone can often be a deterrent to many students and their families who may not be able or willing to invest in all of this, and the student hasn't even begun playing yet! I believe this shouldn't be the case. Music educators must make it a priority to provide students in need with the same opportunity to enjoy music as their peers, and must do everything in their power to make sure that they have all of the resources and materials available in order for them to succeed. For younger students who are in a school band program, I like to use the materials they use in class and to add outside material they find interesting. I find students are more motivated to practice and develop when we start with something that interests them, and then to expose them to other styles of music later on. For older or more advanced students, I like to focus on aspects of musicianship that will help them be successful musicians, such as ear-training, theory, composition, performance practice, improvisation (if the student wishes) and transcribing. I tend to be a teacher on a stricter side as that is how my music teachers were back in Europe. I find this style to be working with my students as they do accomplish their goals and win various competitions. Depending on the age and students goals (professional musician or just playing for fun) I adjust my style accordingly. Even if the student only wants to play for their own enjoyment I still find a way to make the material challenging for them to improve their skills, technique, musicianship, and thus make it worth their while. I graduated from Temple University in 2011 with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education.  I was a saxophone major, but I have also studied piano since the age of three.  I enjoy performing in musical pits, which is where I picked up the flute and the clarinet.  I am currently a choral teacher at the high school level, but I have previously taught in a K-8 school, as well as several years in a daycare setting with very young students. I have been playing music for as long as I can remember and teaching it since high school. In 2012, I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelors degree in Music Education with a dual focus in Jazz Studies. During that time, I had the chance to perform with artist like Branford Marsalis, Benny Golson, Nicolas Peyton and the renowned Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. After graduating, I moved to Arizona to begin working as a band and general music teacher in the Phoenix area. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
