Instruments:

It is hard to believe but I've been studying piano for twenty years now! I'm dedicated to what I do and my goal is to share my passion for music with my students. I began my studies in Slovakia where I first attended elementary music school, then entered the State Conservatory of Bratislava. After the graduation, I received full scholarship at the Northwestern State University of Louisiana, graduating summa cum laude in 2010. At Kansas State University, I gained valuable experience as the Graduate Teaching Assistant and held a studio of ten private students. Currently, I'm a GTA in the third year of my doctoral studies at UNL and very excited to make new connections with students in the Lincoln area!

More Information About Piano Lessons

Keyboards are a convenient option for practice and lessons as they afford students the options of portability and the use of headphones for practice. They are also cheaper and more space-conscious than an acoustic piano. Look to buy a keyboard that has a minimum of 61 keys, and a weighted hammer action. This will ensure your keyboard closest resembles the playability of a real piano. The most popular brand are Roland, Yamaha and Korg. If it is possible, buying an acoustic piano will offer the most rewarding learning experience for students, and provides market resale value.
Music lessons in your home offer a convenient option to learning music! Most of our students request in home lessons for this reason. As long as you have a piano or keyboard in your home, then you should be all set to start your lessons! Children who have never played an instrument before may feel more comfortable studying in their own home, as it may be less intimidating than going somewhere else. In home lessons decrease the time and gas money spent traveling to a different location.
Our teachers create a customized lesson plan for every student. Topics covered during Musika's piano lessons may include, but are not limited to: learning the notes of the piano, how to read music and play piano chord charts, how to play piano by ear, music theory, musicianship skills, and most importantly, how to have fun playing the piano!
We offer piano lessons for students of all ages, including adults. Whether you are a complete beginner on the instrument, or you have not played the piano in many years, our knowledgable instructors can definitely assist you in your journey of developing your musical skills.
Our recommended starting age for piano is 4 or 5, with students capable of playing the keys properly and with sufficient strength in the fingers and hands. Young students also should have begun learning to count and to read. No matter what the age may be, the piano is an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of music, including music theory and basic composition techniques.
