I'm a native of Jackson, MS were my love for music initially began. I began trumpet studies at the age of 15 under Mr. James A. Donald and Mr. Robert Robinson. I am a 1993 graduate of W.H. Lanier High School where I continued musical studies under Dr. Fulton E. Caston. While at Lanier, I was active in marching band (trumpet, mellophone section leader and saxophone overseer), jazz band (piano and trumpet), concert band (trumpet and French Horn) and student conductor. In addition to excelling during state solo and ensemble competitions, I was chosen 2 years in a row for District All-City High School Concert Band (8th chair trumpet and 2nd chair French Horn). I was awarded musical scholarships to Jackson State University and Mississippi Valley State University. While at Jackson State I studied marching band under the direction of Dr. Lewis Liddell and orchestra under Dr. London Branch; at Mississippi Valley State I studied under Mr. Lawrence Horn (woodwind) Mr. Kenneth Milton (trumpet), Mr. Leonard Tramiel (marching band), Dr. Lawrence Goldman (piano), the late Dr. Orlando Moss (voice and concert choir) and Dr. Sandra Scott (gospel show choir).
